Celebrity photographer Andy Gotts MBE is selling prints of six famous people who are icons in their chosen fields, to benefit our Christmas AIDSfree appeal to provide HIV testing and treatment to people around the world who need it.
Gotts has photographed Sir Elton John, Tom Hiddleston, Dame Shirley Bassey, Daniel Craig, Sir Ringo Starr and Dame Judi Dench as part of a project called iCons, in which he captures images of elite Hollywood actors, award-winning musicians and famous names in the fashion world.
The London-based photographer is known for traveling the world to photograph his subjects in their own home, where they are most relaxed. He shoots completely alone, allowing him to create the privacy and intimacy required to capture his subject in ways that are truly unseen. None of his subjects are ever retouched after the shutter release has been activated. In 2012 Andy was appointed MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and is one of the very few photographers to have been recognised by the Queen.
These six 40.6cm x 30.5cm portraits have been specially chosen for the Foundation, and at least 60% of proceeds will go to our Christmas campaign. The prints cost £105 each, or £450 for all six. Readers who want to buy the six prints must use the code EltonSet.
60% of the proceeds of each sale goes to the Foundation.
