27th Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party

To benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation

West Hollywood Park
24 February 2019, 3:30pm

Back

Sir Elton John and David Furnish will host the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF)’s 27th annual Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at West Hollywood Park in Los Angeles. IMDb will serve as this year’s Presenting Sponsor.

For the 15th year, Chef Wayne Elias will design and prepare a sumptuous dinner for party guests to enjoy while watching a live telecast of the 91st Academy Awards. For the first time, IMDb will broadcast its annual IMDb LIVE streaming companion show from the event, co-hosted by Aisha Tyler and Dave Karger, offering viewers four hours of celebrity studded conversation and unique, entertaining and informative coverage of Hollywood’s biggest night. Alexander Gilkes of Paddle8 will return to conduct the evening’s highly anticipated live auction. The event will conclude with dancing until dawn with DJ Johnny Dynell.

This year’s special musical guests will be The Killers. With five consecutive chart-topping studio albums and seven Grammy nominations, The Killers are widely considered one of the most successful rock bands of our time.

Our Academy Awards Viewing Party is the most highly visible and successful fundraising event in Hollywood on Oscar night. Over the past quarter century, this annual event has raised more than $68.2 million, thanks to the generosity of our supporters. These funds help the Foundation to make a real difference in the lives of people at risk for or living with HIV/AIDS, including urgently needed medical care in the Caribbean, innovative treatment and prevention programs in the Southern United States, and national initiatives addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

Cadillac and TheBluefish have partnered with us as the evening’s Co-Sponsors; Fin Gray and Michael Melnick, Fred Latsko, and Bob and Tamar Manoukian are Associate Sponsors. Wines will be presented by Domaine Bertaud Belieu. The Foundation is especially grateful to the City of West Hollywood for continued collaboration with EJAF on shared goals. American Airlines is the Foundation’s official airline.

This year’s event co-chairs are Tim and Jane Allen, Beck, Jamie Bell, Joseph W. Blount, Chris Colfer, Miley Cyrus, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Zooey Deschanel, Michael Douglas, Taron Egerton, Jay Ellis, Boy George, Karen Gillan, Greg Gorman, Sir Lucian and Lady Caroline Grainge, Tiffany Haddish, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, Debbie Harry, Gillian Hearst, Patricia Hearst, Tracey Jacobs, Allison Janney, Caitlyn Jenner, Quincy Jones, Billie Jean King and Ilana Kloss, Heidi Klum, Robert K. ABOUT THE ELTON JOHN AIDS FOUNDATION

We believe AIDS can be beaten. We act on that belief by raising funds for evidence-based programs and policies, and also by speaking out with honesty and compassion about the realities of people’s lives. Sir Elton John created the Foundation in 1992. Over the last quarter century, through hard work and with the help of our network of kind and generous friends and supporters, the foundation has raised more than US$400 million globally to combat stigma, prevent infections, provide treatment and services, and motivate governments to end AIDS. This work has reached millions of people in Africa, Asia, Europe and across the United States. Join us in speaking out, taking action, and contributing to our efforts to achieve a world without AIDS.
