At 17, Ilana became the youngest No. 1 in South African tennis history. A former world No. 1 doubles player and US Open doubles champion, Ilana is now one of the most accomplished women on the administrative side of sports.
She leads Mylan World Team Tennis, which showcases the best in professional team tennis competing for the King Trophy, the league’s championship trophy named after co-founder Billie Jean King.
Ilana is also actively involved in the Women’s Sports Foundation as a member of the executive board. Ilana serves on the executive boards of the Elton John AIDS Foundation in the US and as a patron in the UK. She is also on the board of the Billie Jean King WTT Charities and the Tennis Industry Association.
She is also a co-founder of the Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative. In 2014, she ran the U.K.’s first Smash Hits tennis tournament at London’s Albert Hall, with proceeds supporting the Foundation’s work in Africa.
